Thread: Skipping rocks on the Lake...(ATTN: Anyone)

Having much on his mind lately to think about, Shawn decides to go and sit by one of the lakes today. As he's sitting there, he notices rocks skipping along the surface. He decides to investigate. He cautiously approaches around the lake towards where the rocks are being tossed from, not sure what to expect. Maybe it's one of those wyrm warriors that are supposed to be coming, luring him into some ambush or something. After seeing who it is, and not seeing anything evilish about her, he makes himself known, but still stays well enough back.

(Kasey would see a sixteen year old native american when Shawn gets close enough)

As kasey settled back into skipping rocks she heard what sounded as someone approaching, with her senses kicking in she turned too see a young cub no more than about 16. Noticing his distance she spoke,
"Hi, My name is Kasey Youngblood but my people call me "Black Lilly". I am enjoying the beauty of what nature has to offer, and the quietness of still waters. Wanna skip rocks?"
She hoped maybe being friendly would set this young cub at ease, and Kasey had hardly met any other native americans while she trekked across Missouri, ofcourse he could be setting a trap for her, so she stayed a safe distance and was cautious while still being friendly. A struggle no doubt but one she aced while growing up.

Shawn shrugs. "I'm Shawn Black." He approaches a little closer. "Do you just throw the rocks at the water and due to the angle, they 'skip'?" Shawn picks up a rock and throws it at the water with a kerplunk. "I've not seen you around before. New to the area or just wandering through?"

"Well its nice too meet you Shawn. Its all in the wrist, you have too sort of skim the rock along the waters surface as you throw it. Like this." Kasey said as she showed him, making the rock skip several feet along the top of the water before sinking. "I'm from a reservation in New York, but my people taveled the "Trail of Tears" many a moon ago. So i been trekking across Missouri and then visited my cousin in Joplin. He spoke of the range here and figured i'd come see the beauty that nature had to offer and find myself."
Kasey watched Shawn try and skip rocks, but failed. This caused her to giggle, something she had not done in a long while.

"So you just visiting like on vacation?"

"Not really, but i just got here, and was looking for a place to set down roots and enjoy what nature has to offer. If i can stay it'd be great, sometimes one get tired being by themself all the time, and you long for a stable place too call home." Kasey hope the young cub understood what she said. Looking around she felt a tad comfortable, but that only meant she had started too wear out her welcome and didnt want too scare the young cub as she bored him with her life story, sometime keeping things short and sweet came difficult for her.

"Well, the nearest town is full of racist assholes, so I don't know if that's really the kind of people you'd want to associate with."

"No, i had my share of dealing with those types before, but Shawn one should not judge the whole city by the stupidity a few locals hold as beliefs. It only makes me wanna stay and put it in their face, walking proudly remembering our peoples were here before them, this land belonged to our people and as such its our duty too see that the racism doesn't hinder nature in anyway, or that's how i see it."

"Actually it isn't only a few. In fact, it's very few that tolerate 'difference'."
