Thread: Breakdown 2-25-2010 (att:anyone)

Charles walks toward the campfire from the bus. He takes note of the young woman. He squats down beside her and places his hand on her shoulder. "Hello, My name is Charles. Would you like to talk? It is obvious you have something on your mind."

Shawn comes walking up and notices Nikki, "What's wrong Nikki?"

Nikki keeps her head down, but her shoulders stop shaking. After a moment she looks up at the person next to her. Her green eyes sparkle with the still unshed tears. "My name is Nikki. I'm so lost." She shakes her head quickly. "Not physically, but emotionally. I don't know why Gaia put me here."

"Everyone feels that way from time to time. Trust me you are not the only one here who feels that way. I felt that way for quite some time. You will also go through time of wonder why Gaia allows certain thing to happen to you." Charles sits. "Why don't you tell me what is upsetting you this evening. Why do you think Gaia has abandoned you here?"

"Can I sit, or would you rather be alone?"

Nikki lets a small smile pass her lips when she hears Shawn. "No, I don't want to be alone."

She looks at Charles. "I'm supposed to find a pack, but I don't even know enough people to join or make a pack." She looks around nervously at all the empty space. "And this place is death. Quicker death if you are alone."

"I haven't died yet."

"I may not be the Alpha of the pack I am in, but I can talk to him if you would like to stay with us until you find your place. We are a group of misfits. We were place in a pack. I'm sure you will be welcome as long as you'd like to stay." He whipes a tear from her cheek as he brushes the hair from her face. "I am no warrior but you would be much safer with us than running about alone."

"While I do not question the wisdom of the leaders, a truly cohesive, well-formed pack must come together on its own, not have a hodgepodge thrown together out of leftovers."
