Thread: Delving into the Past 2/28 Attn: Melanie

Melanie comes to the door, still wearing black military fatigues. She smiles faintly at Charles and motions him into the cabin.

"Hey, come on in. There's some strange shit coming over the net..."

Charles follows the young girl over to her computer terminal. He sands looking over her shoulder. "What have you found?" He watches intently.

Melanie points to one of her four computers on which there is a constant stream of binary code flowing across the screen.

"I've managed to translate some of it and its a repeating code. Basically it says 'Repeating code repeating error error' And while my dad was a theurge so I sort of understand spirits, this shit is beyond me. So I'm passing it off to you." She smiles brightly. "Now, what can I do for you?"

Charles lets out a light sigh. "Well I had a young man come to me and want to find out about his past. His name is Shawn." He offers the bag. "That contains a picture, and a dna sample. He is a garou. He was born some time in '93, and was left with nuns to be raised at age 3 or 4." Charles takes a seat at one of the computer stations and begins attempting to decode any other remaining parts of the code.

Melanie takes the file on Shawn and begins flipping through what little information there is.

"Well, I can send it off to Jordan Industries. They can run tests and I think they still have a couple of Private Investigators on payroll. We'll see what we can find out about this kid. He from here? I mean, if my guys have questions he's available to answer them without a lot of hassle?"

The binary code switches as you watch and now reads:
"Repeating Error Not Enough Data. Cannot Complete Repeat Command Request. Repetition On Hold."

"Ya he's from around here, to the best of my knowledge. I can send him your way if you want. You may be able to get some more from him. He doesn't seem to know much. If you had questions on nuns he could probably answer them."

Charles returns his concentration back to the monitor. "How did you come across this? I mean do you know where this is coming from?" He begins attempting a traceroute.

Melanie starts typing out an email on one of the other computers
"Yeah, send him this way but no hurry. It'll take a week or so to get any information back from the boys."
She then begins boxing up the items for shipment, making sure to pad them appropriately.

"The code? I was trying to hack into Robin's Tail City Hall records and that shit started spewing all over my screen. I have no idea what's going on."

"What were you looking for in the city hall records?" He winces after realizing what he asked. Charles turns his attention to breaking down their firewall to give him more room to work. He then begins attempting to feed the code information, to test its reactions.

Melanie giggles. "I was looking for records. Specifically about the supposed plague. Really weird there. The CDC has nothing on it, just local records."

The code appears to be resistant to anything you try at this point.
