Thread: Chopping Wood (attn: Dog/any) 4/18/10

Hearing a sound, Tai pads that direction. As he aproaches, he notices the one who was choked out by a cub chopping wood. Tai sits and watches.

Dog stayed up late playing with the cubs, waking when the sun hit him in the Middle of the Bawn, He crawls over to a good sized tree rapping he legs around it a good three feet off the ground, and starts doing sit up strikes around the tree, time passes and Dog hears a strange echo like a clanking of wood, he stops to listen, then falls and takes off running to inspect, coming close to the cabin, Dog climbs to the roof as stealthy as possible working his way to the nose, looking down he sees Wolfrik, killing wood with metal, Dog lays quietly watching...

Tai notices movement on a cabin and looks to see the dog who climbs trees sneaking across it.

Wolfrik continues splitting wood with the ax. As Tai comes out he gives him a nod, but continues to work. If he is aware of Dog's presence he doesn't let it be known, he just continues to chop the logs one by one.

Dog, Watches quietly. at each movement and strike, Dog thinks "why does he kill the wood? Did it make him angry?"

He thinks back to times that Father made him tear and hit wood, he never had a pic of metal to hit wood that would have been easy, weak, not good enough. Dog shakes his head, still watching in silence

Wolfrik pauses from chopping the wood and turns and looks over his shoulder at Dog and just nods, letting him know that he was aware of his presence. There was no malice in his expression when he makes eye contact with Dog. He then resumes chopping the wood and says out loud, "You some would consider it impolite to sneak up on someone from behind."

Dog rolls and leaps down, looking to the two strangly, "why you kill wood? did he tell you to?" looking at the taller of the to men.

Wolfrik can't help but laugh at the question. He then looks at Tai and shakes his head. He turns his attention back to Dog and says, "I'm not killing the wood. I'm chopping it to give life to a fire. Once I am done chopping it, it is ready to be lit on fire. That will keep my cabin warm at night. Do you get what I'm saying?"

Dog looks at Wolfrik, "Chop, Kill, Same..."

"Father burn wood to fire and breath smoke, I was to lay over fire and work, I strong like fire, learn to attack like fire"
