Thread: Cleansing... (ATTN Sasha. Anyone 12-28-09)

Sam is up with the dawn, as usual. He seems to watch the sun peek slowly from the horizon. If Dragan announces himself to Sam he will greet him merrily.

The young looking girl peeks her head out the door. Seeing the mounds of snow, she shifts to lupus and dashes into the snow running furiously in circles biting at the snow she kicks up, obviously enjoying herself, and then skids to a halt in front of Dragan.

"Yes?"

Dragan greets Black Sam and watches his ritual from the porch of Sacha's cabin.

When Sasha comes bounding out and plays in the snow the sadness of the morning is almost erased from Dragan's thoughts. When she turns to Dragan he is a bit saddened again for interrupting her play.

"You said I could come for learning. I have done so, but it can wait. If you wish we could run for a while and enjoy the new snow."

Dragan shifts back down into lupus and waits for Sacha's reply.

Sasha tilts her head. Her small lupus form dwarfed by Dragan's hispo form. She shifts easily into hispo as well, although she is still much smaller than he is.

"Time to learn things that will help. Helping will make time for play. What do you want to learn today?"

Dragan is a bit saddened for having taken the enjoyment out of the moment.

"Yes, helping will give time for play later. I wanted to learn how you cleansed the squirrels that attacked us the other night. I watched...I tried to memorize each move, but to many distractions. I have a feeling after just a few nights here that we will all need to know how to cleanse the taint that seems to be all over this place."

"I also seek advice on another matter, but don't wish to discuss it out in the open like this."

Sasha bobs her head and stands, shaking out her fur, being Shadow Lord she is built for the cold and seems to enjoy it.

"Come then, we cleanse." She trots off toward a tree at the edge of the clearing, biting at the snow as she goes, hopping and pouncing just for the fun of it. She stops at a tree that juts out from the line. She trots around it a couple of times.

"Rites are personal things. Everyone does them differently. I always start at the north, that is how I was taught. At least one circuit around object must be made. NEVER go left. Always right. Intent is important. Tell the target you are cleansing it. Homids sometimes use things to represent cleansing. You use whatever helps you. If it is safe, I lick it, if it is not safe to lick I pee on it. Symbol of washing away."

Sasha moves to the north point and yips and in spirit speech tells the tree she is going to cleanse it. She moves to the east point and does it again, then to the south and then to the west. She then moves in to the tree and licks at the rough bark at the base. After the appropriate amount of time, she trots back to Dragan.

"Now you do it. The tree will be very happy."

Dragan looks to Sasha, "I can't speak with the spirits speech, but I will speak to the tree."

Dragan starts with to the north and yips telling the tree he is going to cleanse it. Moving to the right he completes the ritual just as Sasha did. Finally licking the tree he completes the rite. He looks to Sasha. "How will I know it is done? You cleansed the tree before me."

Sasha sniffs at the tree.

"You put the energy into it. The spirit food. The essence of our spirit half. Feed a gnosis into the rite as you perform it. You will feel it going into the rite. You can try a different tree if you want."

She digs her muzzle into the snow, tossing it up in the air so she can bite at it.

Dragan lopes over to a tree about 20 feet away. Starting again north he yips at the tree telling it he is going to cleanse it. He completes each cardinal direction to the right the same. Finally moving to the tree he licks the trunk as he does so the fur on his body prickles and small crackles can be seen between the hairs. There is a faint smell of ozone in the air as he finishes licking the tree. (gnosis spent)
