Thread: When Owl Says to Fly... You'd Better Fly. (1/16 atn: Jon & Jim)

Sam watches the Dawn break through the fog for a moment, then disappear. He sighs and nods, before taking a sip of coffee.

He smiles as he hears Tala's voice behind him.

"You could say that Owl has me up every morning." He says as he turns and begins to stand.

"Did Owl wake you today?"

Sam looks around and sniffs at the air, his eyes sparkle slightly.

"That would be a great laugh, wouldn't it? Owl coming to you this morning? But who am I to ignore where Owl leads?"

She considers his words for a moment. "You mean that? That last bit about not arguing where Owl leads? Cause... if so, I might have a good hunch why I'm up at the ass crack of dawn talking with you today." She looks around, clearly considering if there was any other reason that owl might have woke her.

"I need a good ragabash for a potentially dangerous quest into the umbra... know any?" She smirks, it's clear she knows exactly who she wants and is hoping Sam is free for the job.

"A pack?" Sam guessed. Surely she knew the end of that path was nearly here, just as he did. Tempest had enough reason to dislike Sam, no reason to give him more. A sadness washes over his eyes at the thought of the Pack he'd hoped to run in once more, brothers in arms, laughing in the face of the Wyrm and death as well. Dre's sickness of the soul and his... situation... with Claudia did that in. So perhaps some Distance is what they all needed.


Sam looks back to Tala and smiles into her eyes, a bright, mischievous grin that lights up his eyes.

"Danger? pffft. You've never pissed off Claudia before. This will be walk in the park..."

Sam winks.

"I'd think twice about that Jokester," Shadow says from the edge of the woods as he slowly walks into the camp. He seems bent over slightly more then usual, leaning a bit heavier on his walking stick, as if the gut he carries is pulling him over.

"Sam, I assume you know Shadow here... he and I have a bit of history, though not as way back as you and I go." Tala smiled and looked to Shadow as she continued to speak, "He's the one that helped bring some of the problems around here to my attention and if the Spirits are with us ... hopefully it's his wisdom that will help us find a way to avert tragedy from happening again."

Shadow nods while Tala speaks, drawing in the dirt with his walking stick, only occasionally looking up and around.

"Think twice about pissing off Claudia? Or about joining this pack?"

Sam smirks slightly.

"Seriously, I'd love to help." Sam looks up, an owl-like shadow in the trees watching over the three.

"And it's like I said. I go where Owl takes me. It won't be the first time I've found death in his shadow."

"Well then, that's three." she looks up to the Owl as well. "Three under Owl's wing," smriking she shakes her head. "What a pack this is shaping up to be. Theurge, Galliard, and a Ragabash... we could stand for a Philodox and an Arhoun but I suppose it's not required... still, if either of you got someone in mind who might not be completely intollerable to have along ... I'm open to suggestions."
