Drowning Sorrows (attn:ANY or NPC) 4/1/2010
A.J. slipped into Sluggers with a demeanor not of his usual appearance. Instead of looking confident and approachable, he looked sad and closed off. He approached the bar with a slowness to his steps. Once at the bar he didn't make any motion to flag down the bartender, instead waiting for the bartender to come to him. When asked what he'd like, he shrugged and said, "The strongest you got, in a double and a Coors light."
He didn't even know what had brought him to Sluggers after the week he'd had, but it was where he ended up. Maybe it was a subconscious urge to be around those of the same heritage, or maybe it just seemed like the most friendly place to him. He downed his double shot and chased it with his beer. He then sat and stared at the beer bottle, lost in thought. Thinking about the choices he'd made since coming to Lamar and wondering if they were the right ones.

A.J. waits patiently for the bartender to come back over and asks for another double shot of what he had a bit ago. The bartender raises an eyebrow but pours the second double for him. Without hesitating, A.J. takes the shot in one gulp and chases it with his beer and resumes staring at the bottle of beer.

A.J. takes a look around. He doesn't see anyone he really knows or had hoped to see at Slugger's. He downs his beer and tosses a $100 bill on the counter when the bartender walks by and says, "Keep it." He then exits promptly.
