Thread: Collecting (attn: Emma) 9/29/2009

Emma walked into Sluggers with a very serious look on her face. Deep in thought she seemed to notice no one as she made her way to a booth and waved off a waitress as she approached. Digging into her pocket she produces a small notebook and begins to read whatever is written there.

Sabre smiled as he saw Emma walk in, but sat a little surprised by her being so oblivious to everyone else. Part of him wondered if tonight was the right time and place to come to collect on the unspoken words they shared the other evening. He decided he wouldn't be the one to bring it up, but he couldn't help but offer his company. He pulled out his phone and sent her a text message reading, "If you want company, I'm in the booth in the back corner that I usually take."

A reply comes via text: "Can't stay long, just hoping to catch someone who might have stopped here. No dice though." Physically the red-head seems quite distracted as she looks around the place.

Sabre exits his booth and walks over to Emma's table and takes a seat across from her. He doesn't speak for a moment as he ponders bringing up the other night and her faux pas. He looks into her eyes and just says, "You gave me the 'we should talk later' look the other night. If this is a bad time, we can talk another time."

"The 'we should talk' look?" Emma arches an eyebrow. "I'm afraid I'm not really on the same page as you on this one Sabre. Wanna refresh my memory?"

Sabre tilts his head to the side and just says, "The way you insulted me in front of Cicero? Ring a bell?"

"Insulted?" She blinks, clearly not remembering. "Afraid not. What did I do to insult you? As far as I can remember I was busy trying to make sure that Kalie didn't lose it in there and cause one hell of a mess for everyone. Hell," she lets out a half chuckle, "I only barely remember that you were even there that night... now that's gotta be a first!" She smiles sincerely at Sabre.

"So what did I do exactly and why did it hurt your feelings so badly? Was it anything serious or just your run of the mill 'I'm a pissy brujah' sorta shit?"

Sabre starts to get more irritated as she talks. Clearly to him she wasn't interested in owning up to her actions. Then he thought about it, what should make her any different than anyone else in this city? He shakes his head and says, "You dismissed me as if I were street trash from the moment I walked in to the Museum and made several insulting remarks my way as you proceeded to kiss Cicero's ass. You totally disrespected me and at the time it was apparent you knew it. You even told me we would talk about your actions later, to make amends. But apparently, you have no intention of doing so."
