Constantino pulls back the massive door and stand there for a moment scanning the interior of the Large cathedral. Slowly he walks down to the pew in which Emma was seated. He genuflects and holds the position and makes the sign of the cross before walking down the isle and taking a seat beside her. Noting her greeting as he approached Constantino nods and continues his routine. He pulls the kneeler down from the pew infront of them and kneels, whispering a series of prayers.
Once finished he sits back, and grabs a bible from the back of the pew. Opening it slowly from the back he runs his hand over the last page of revelations and then flips forward to the book of John.

"Thank you for joining me tonight Ms. Fitzpatrick. I know I upset you greatly last time we spoke and I apologize. Have you spoken to Cahill since then?"

"Briefly." she says softly. "Long enough to let him know where he could find Calhoun. I hope the two of them can mend their friendship but I'm not sure ... Cahill still won't let go of this being Lawrence. He's a deeply troubled man ... I was wrong to think that I could keep it in check forever. I know he could be a ..." she realizes where she is and stops from swearing. "bigot sometimes but he was an effective bigot with a good heart." She sighs.

"I don't hold it against you that you wanted him out of the way. You were just another person in an ever growing line. I just hope that Stan and Azrael can fill the shoes of Calhoun and Cahill. It'll be tough... we got a lot of enemies and not a lot of friends these nights."

"I truly am sorry that it came to that. I was very much in his corner until he broke, but when it happened I thought it would be best to back the people I did. I know I interfered, but I would hope that it was in the best interest of the city. Stan and Azrael are the best choices for the position....I can't imagine how things would be if certain others claimed the throne seeing their previous actions."

Constantino looks down at the bible again, noticing that he's still at the beginning of John he starts turning the pages again.

"But I didn't ask to speak with you for that reason." Constantino looks up at the cross with a bit of fear and worry in his eyes. Probably the only time he's been seen in public with that expression, outside of the obvious issues with Kirsi.

Fitzpatrick nods thoughtfully as Constantino explains. "The promise is useless anyway... like anyone actually observes it until someone pitches a fit." She scoffs. "Just another way to complicate the lives of those of us trying to actually do something with our ..." she hesitates and glances at the cross. "lives."

"So if not about the city... why did you want to meet with me?" She arches an eyebrow. "Hear I have a thing for Italians did you?" She smirks, clearly trying to be funny and ignoring his discomfort rather than making use of it.

Constantino smiles "You got it, I usually pick up girls at church." He winks.

Quickly replacing his curtain of stoicism he looks over his shoulders to make sure they aren't being watched or listened to.

"I was wondering what manner of creature can stop time. You see I recently ran into a very intriguing little girl, and she told me I should talk to you. So obviously I assume you might be able to explain."

"Stop time?" She smirks. "Did you get some bad blood Constantino? If so, I know someone who can help you with that problem. Or you might just use a bit of celerity and WHAM-O ... no more bad blood." She looks back to the cross, her smile fades and she becomes much more serious. "Even if you did meet such a creature, and for some unknown reason they wanted you to talk to me... what would they have sent you to me to learn?"

"I may have had a rough couple of weeks, Emma, but I'm not Art. This little girl and her cat had five of us apparently frozen in time. Maybe frozen in time isn't the right words, it was more like an extra few minutes added to my night. Your 'cousin' was among us, as well as Stan, and the other powers in this city."

Constantino finally stops flipping pages in the bible and looks down to see the passage he intended. John 11:1-45.

"You a fan of greek myths, Constantino?" Regardless of his answer she continues. "There's this story of the first woman and the gods gave her a gift... a box. They told her not to open the box but, she just HAD to know what the gods would give to her for a gift so... she opened it despite their warning not to. Turns out the gift was that she had all the evils in the world trapped inside this box where, if she hadn't ever opened it, they would have stayed trapped forever. If she could have just accepted that the box was her gift and not been so vain as to need to know what was withing, then the world would be a good and safe place to live in... or so the Greeks believed." She sighs. "... sometimes knowing that you've been given a gift by something much greater than yourself, should be enough."

She turns to him. "But... I know how you feel. For what it's worth, I once demanded to know what was in the box too. I can't say that I completely regret it but," she hesitates. "If I hadn't asked, my life would be very different than it is now."

Constantino shakes his head. "That's just it, Emma, the box is already open. Melissa just started to explain what was in the damn box." Constantino was getting a little more gruff, but quickly pulls in his voice and sighs. He looks around again, "and the greeks didn't tell the whole truth when passing along that fable. The truth is, inside the box there was another box, and inside that one, there is another. The real problem is once you open the first box, you are required to open the next one and so on. And yes, each box reveals a new evil, but the trick is slowing down the process enough to understand it and confront it. Only those who don't care about anything can resist the temptation to open the boxes...and those people are useless anyway. It may be difficult for us to face the past, but without it we would surely be lost."
