Seeking a Holy man (04-28-10 ATTN: Father Colburn, Anyone)

Shortly after sunset Éamon stops and parks on the street next to the church.

This should be an interesting conversation with the priest. I hope he is still here, I probably should have had Rolf call ahead.

He looks in the mirror to straighten his tie before exiting the car and stops closing his eyes and concentrating for a few seconds. He opens the glove box and retrieves the donation envelope from the Sunday mass he attended and a Rosary. He places the donation envelope in the inner pocket of his suit jacket before he grabs it and gets out of the car.

As he approaches the church he places the Rosary around his neck and puts on his suit jacket, ensuring its straight as he walks to the door.

Éamon enters the foyer of the church, dressed in a black suit, a blue shirt with white collar and cuffs, an ornate Irish silver Rosary around his neck, and gold and black cufflinks, looking more human than normal.

He looks around for Father Colburn as he enters. Not seeing him he moves to the font and dips his fingers in the holy water, making the sign of the cross, as he walks to the third pew from the front he says the lords prayer in the original Aramaic, "Abwûn d'bwaschmâja Nethkâdasch schmach Têtê malkuthach. Nehwê tzevjânach aikâna d'bwaschmâja af b'arha. Hawvlân lachma d'sûnkanân jaomâna. Waschboklân chaubên wachtahên aikâna daf chnân schwoken l'chaijabên. Wela tachlân l'nesjuna ela patzân min bischa. Metol dilachie malkutha wahaila wateschbuchta l'ahlâm almîn. Amên."

As he reaches the pew he pulls out the kneeler and kneels in silent prayer before rising and sitting in the pew. He picks up the Bible from the end of the pew and flips it open and begins to read.

(ooc translation: "Oh Thou, from whom the breath of life comes, who fills all realms of sound, light and vibration. May Your light be experienced in my utmost holiest. Your Heavenly Domain approaches. Let Your will come true - in the universe just as on earth. Give us wisdom for our daily need, detach the fetters of faults that bind us, like we let go the guilt of others. Let us not be lost in superficial things, but let us be freed from that what keeps us off from our true purpose. From You comes the all-working will, the lively strength to act, the song that beautifies all and renews itself from age to age. Sealed in trust, faith and truth.)

Father Colburn enters the main worship area carrying a bottle of pledge and a dust rag. Going over to some of the fixtures he works silently, leaving parishioners to pray and contemplate the presence of the Lord.

Éamon glances up from the bible to see the father, He closes the bible and places it back at the end of pew as he stands and walks over to the father.

He extends his hand to the Father, "Father, If you have a moment may we speak?"

"Of course my son," With that the Father puts his rag down and turns his full attention to Eamon "... how can I be of help tonight?"

Éamon looks at the father, "Father, I have multiple things that I wish to speak with you about. However, I know not where to begin. I suppose I will start with the question that has been weighing heavy on my mind since Last I was here. I am rather curious as to why you decided to change your sermon that during mass that Sunday evening the week before last and what was the sermon that you had originally prepared?"

"Well, sometimes the Lord moves us to act differently than we expect. I was going to speak about healing rifts in our personal relationships and healing of the heart... particularly the story of the prodical son. It still speaks to me and perhaps this sunday I will speak of it but something told me someone needed to hear the other sermon and so... I let the Holy Spirit lead me." He smiles.

"Would you like to sit with me while we talk? I fear my faith is stronger than my knee is these days." He chuckles.

Jano finishes his prayers, then gives a roll of hundreds in the offering, he nods again to Eamon and leaves quietly.

Éamon catches Jano leaving out of the corner of his eye, he turns and nods.

He looks back at Father Colburn, "By all means father, Please"

Éamon motions to the Father to lead the way and will follow the father as he speaks, "I can understand letting the Holy Spirit guide ones hand, I honestly believe the Holy Spirit has been my guide in the majority of my endeavors over the years. Which leads me to my second question. The book of revelations makes mention of the four horsemen yet it never gives a time frame for the events that happen as the good book seldom does. Given the times we live in do you believe it possible that the horsemen could be among us today?"

"A very heavy topic for casual conversation, My Son but, it is one that weighs on the minds of all the faithful. The time of Revelations is a fearsome time to many but to the faithful it is a promise of our Kingdom to come, the return of Christ our Lord and Savior."

He pauses. "Is it possible the horsemen stride the earth... my heart tells me no because I am not of the opinion that Christ has moved upon us in that way just yet, but I am no expert on the ideals of the End Times." Reaching into a pocket the Priest pulls out a notepad and writes down an address.

"If you're really interested in talking to someone whose knowledge of faith far exceeds even Bishop Greene's or my own... this woman, an orthodox Jew by faith, is perhaps the most knowledgable person I can think of." He hands over the paper.
