Thread: Gathering of July 10, 2010

The night started off with two separate events. Some kindred started off meeting with Archon Walker at his warehouse to discuss strategies for fighting Malcolm while others started off the night with the Brujah party at Purgatory. After the meeting at the Archon’s warehouse, the kindred moved to Purgatory to enjoy the night and wait to see if Malcolm would take the bait. The music and atmosphere was not disappointing at Purgatory. Weapons were laying around everywhere making them appears near worthless, while some possessions near and dear to another’s heart disappeared in plain sight. For those paying attention, a certain couple at Purgatory had more adornments then they used to. Congratulations are in order for the happy couple. I hope the college appreciates the truckload of ice cream the Brujah so willingly donated to them. As the man was sent on his way so quickly, I‘m glad they were sure it was only ice cream he had in the truck. A small fight between some new members of clan Brujah peaked the interest of some as well as a heated argument between the Herald and the Sheriff. Apparently testing others in their new positions is another duty of the Herald. The last interesting thing of note in Purgatory was a new Child of the Moon named Manny. His dance moves are not soon to be forgotten by those who witnessed him.

The party at Purgatory wound down in time for everyone to prepare for Court. Prince Cahill announced that the breeches of the Masquerade would not continue. The breeches that have occurred will be punished as set forth by the Seneschal’s post. There was a lag in showing respect to the Prince at the start of Court and an aroma of truthfulness coated the air as several could not hold their tongues of their thoughts. I am informed that this was a ploy of Malcolm. For those present, there were a few interesting displays including one of our Court Seer’s stamina. No one was allowed to leave as the punishments for those who broke the traditions were brought forth.

Darius of clan Toreador was brought forth first to account for his breaking of the traditions. For his actions at the opening of Club Asylum he had his fangs ripped out, received 50 lashes, and received the negative status *Rude* and *Foolish* effectively stripping him off his *Creative* status. Our feared Sheriff was chosen to remove Darius’ fangs.

A.J. of clan Gangrel was the next brought forth. For his breech outside Maddalena’s warehouse, he was to have his claws ripped out, receive 50 lashes, be removed from Scourge, and receive the negative status *Incompetent*. Kendov, as speaker of the family, was brought forth to administer the punishment of A.J. losing his claws. Instead of allowing the punishment to take place, A.J. fought against it. He was brought to torpor and his life left in the speaker’s hands. The choice: final death. Other factors were in motion that night and halted this fate. Instead A.J.’s hands were removed and he was placed under the speaker’s accounting for further instruction.

Domino of clan Assamite was the next to account for his actions outside Maddalena’s warehouse. He was given 25 lashes and received the negative status *Foolish* and *Uppity* removing his *Proven* status for ignoring an Archon’s orders and placing his hands on the Herald.

Lazarus Arch of clan Venture was brought forth for plotting the death of another Kindred in the City. As the right of destruction is the Prince’s alone, his life was forfeit. He met his punishment with dignity. Stan of clan Malkavian was ordered to administer the punishment with the Sheriff as witness.

Eamon of clan Ventrue was found to be *Seditious* for plotting against the Prince.

There was a bright spot of the evening of Court, our Seneschal was given *Effective* and *Competent* for his handling of the various situations in the City.

There was only one new member of the City to present at Court. A new member of the Rose. The speaker of Rose was quite reluctant to bring forth the new member and it required the Seneschal to order her to complete the duties of her position. It is a shame in all the time at Purgatory when the new one was there that the speaker did not have time to converse or find out any information prior to Court.

The Prince made it clear that this behavior can not continue. It is not just the Prince’s problem, but the City’s problem. As such, the speakers of the families will be responsible for administering proper punishment to those in their family who violate the traditions according to the outlines posted by the Seneschal. If you do not know what those were, I suggest you spend some time at the notice board in the museum. Please understand and note that this does not excuse the reporting portion of the offense. The offense and punishment given must still be reported to the Prince. As some families have failed to understand this, I shall repeat it once more. ANY BREECH OF THE MASQUERADE MUST BE REPORTED TO THE PRINCE. Perhaps the nifty lettering will be enough to get it though to those who seem to forget.

After Court adjourned, the Kindred that had met at the Archon’s warehouse gathered together to execute a plan to take out Malcolm. Due to the planning and execution exhibited that night, the Archon, JD Holt, and Roland were successful in the attack on Malcolm at the opera house. Malcolm is no more. Thanks to all who assisted in this endeavor as the City can rest a bit more peacefully knowing that one known threat has been eliminated.

Items of Note:

It is nice to know that some new members of the City can make their own decisions rather then listen to advice of those who would lead them astray with the Harpy.
